Shot Near Campus
Tragedy has struck the Atlanta area as a shooting on Piedmont Avenue NE has left one person dead. On the evening of December 5th, 2022, the Atlanta Police Department responded to reports of a shooting near Georgia State University. The incident occurred at the RaceTrac gas station across the street from the Piedmont Central Dining Hall, and has sent shockwaves throughout the entire community. This post will discuss the details of this horrific event and the impact it has had on the city.
The identity of the shooting victim has not yet been released. However, Georgia State University has confirmed that the victim was a student. At this time, APD does not know if there are any other victims or suspects involved in this incident. What Happened? A witness to the shooting stated that he saw two males arguing outside of RaceTrac when one shot at another and fled the scene on foot.
